Lymphedema Treatment

What Is Lymphedema?

Lymphedema is abnormal swelling of the tissues. This condition occurs when the lymphatic system has either failed to develop properly or has been damaged. Left untreated, lymphedema swelling can become severe.

In most cases, through early diagnosis and treatment swelling can permanently be eliminated. In more advanced cases, treatment will allow you to manage swelling successfully. Certified lymphedema therapists use massage, exercise, and compression bandaging to reduce swelling.
